(slo)žena priča

Dea Džanković, Ivana Ranisavljević, Jelena Prljević and Sanja Solunac

11 Septembar - 4 October 2025

At the core of “(slo)žena priča” lies the collective research of female identity through the prism of personal and cultural narratives, in which each of us contributes with our unique visual language. This collaboration arose out of a desire to explore the complex relationships between the inner self, external expectations, and social norms, opening a space for dialogue on feminist topics of fundamental importance to society.

Our practices not only examine deep emotional layers but also create bridges between personal experiences and collective consciousness. Through collage, video, photography, and performance, the works in this exhibition invite the audience to engage in reflection on topics related to gender identity, norms, and prejudices that shape our society. They function as a mirror that reflects the testimonies and challenges of the female experience, while raising important questions about positions of power, perception, and social dynamics.

Our collective practice highlights the power of art as a means of awareness, empowerment, and emancipation, creating space for introspective experience and open discussion. Through this exhibition, we want to inspire the audience to question their own narratives and engage in reflection on topics that are often invisible or suppressed, encouraging them to find their voice in the complex mosaic of women’s positions.

The exhibition also includes an accompanying program consisting of three participatory workshops, a performance, and a panel, offering the audience an opportunity to learn more about the practices, works, and experiences of the artists. Below you can find the detailed program with exact dates and guidelines for workshop registration.

Every day, we witness various forms of violence and dehumanization, and we believe that the activation of the gallery space as a gathering place for empowering empathy, togetherness, and imagining a different world is necessary. With that in mind, the Public Program of our “(slo)žena priča” exhibition includes three participatory workshops, a performance followed by conversation with the authors. The anchor of our gatherings is care and resistance – joint listening, curiosity, support, the strengthening of individual and collective being.
