Weaving the Elements: A Textile Workshop with Andrea Di Natale
Join us on Saturday, 20 June at 2pm for a 2-hour textile workshop (2–4pm) in English, led by our intern Andrea Di Natale, inspired by the exhibition “4 Elements” by Katarina Juričić and Igor Schiller at U10 Art Space.
The workshop explores the symbolic qualities of water, earth, fire, and air through the medium of weaving. Participants are invited to transform personal impressions and ideas into textile compositions using yarns of different colours and textures.
The session begins with a short introduction to the exhibition and an overview of the basic principles of weaving, followed by a practical demonstration of how to use a cardboard loom. Participants will then work independently on pre-prepared looms, experimenting with weaving patterns, colour combinations, texture, and rhythm to create a small personal tapestry inspired by one or more of the four elements.
At the end of the session, participants will share and discuss their works, opening a space for reflection on creative processes and the diverse interpretations of the four elements through textile practice.
Designed for adults, the workshop requires no previous experience. All materials are provided. The workshop will take place at U10 Art Space and is limited to 10–12 participants.
This workshop is part of Andrea Di Natale’s internship project at U10 Art Space.
🌱 Participation is free of charge.
