Martin Džorlev vs. Grandfather’s Guitar – Reading & Concert

This Wednesday, 22 July, U10 Art Space (and its lovers) will have the chance to witness a contest between Martin Džorlev and his grandfather’s guitar — who remembers more summers, and who will more gently evoke the fragility of memory. Through voice and guitar strings will pass all the attempts at survival of one man, or one guitar.

Martin Džorlev is a (still) young musician, writer, student, and a son from Skopje. He could (but does not want to) boast about being part of the sound of the bands Lufthansa, Životni, O, Ubavče, and many others. This March, in Rooseveltova, Martin published his first poetry collection Na Balkan, sam (2026, Kultura Beta).

The guitar is 60 years old, made of unknown wood, and has a remarkably vibrant voice, even though it is missing its first string.

The event starts at 7 PM at U10 Art Space, where Martin will first read us a short story, and then perform a concert of songs that have not yet been recorded.

Dress code: good shoes.
