Saturday, September 26 Programme – Remapping × ŠTRAJTKULTUR: Board Game and Discussion

Saturday, 26 September

12:00 — Remapping

Petra Parčetić will lead a workshop exploring the role of land in mapping the ways in which political, social, and economic circumstances shape family histories and relationships.

Participants are invited to bring an object that reflects personal and family histories shaped or mediated by land. These objects will serve as a starting point for reimagining the archive—not as an archive composed of existing documents and other material evidence of inheritance, property transactions, and other bureaucratic records, but one made up of immaterial and affective material. This alternative archive of family property, land, and inheritance centres the stories that led to the material outcomes represented by the objects participants bring with them, in an attempt to frame and understand these concepts beyond bureaucratic and administrative perspectives. Through reflecting on, sketching, and considering the meaning of the archive, participants are invited to present and (re)define their stories through new methods and formats, creating a kind of affective archive.

Anyone interested can register for the workshop by email by providing their first and last name. Please send registrations to parceticpetra@gmail.com. Registration is open until Friday, 25 September at 18:00.

If you are interested in the workshop but do not have a specific object to bring, you are still very welcome to register!

The workshop will be held in Serbian and/or English, depending on the participants.

17:00 — Štrajtkultur Board Game and Discussion

Participants are invited to activate the installation and take part in a facilitated discussion that builds on the activity. The board game, developed by Nevena Delić, invites critical reflection on land as (non-)property, resource, and territory. It asks how we relate to one another, how we understand our interdependence, and what role land plays in mediating it. The game understands antagonism as a necessity and serves as an exercise in political imagination.

Registration is not needed. Four people are needed for one game. Join on your own or bring fellow players. The game and discussion will take place in Serbian and/or English.

The exhibition and program are supported through the Culture for Democracy project of the Heartefact Foundation.
