The Artist At Play at U10 ?
U10 and TAAP are pleased to invite you to its first collaboration between the Serbian and the Bulgarian communities – an evening with video work by Nevena Ostojić and performances by Yoanna Laskova, Bozhidar Savov, and Yves-Christian Angelov, on Friday, 5th of September at 7 PM.
The program opens with „Everything Is Made So That I Don’t Have to Wake Up“ (2024) by Nevena Ostojić and curator Andreja Drobnjak, following a Belgrade bus route which passes through central streets, bridges and neighborhoods to return at its starting point. However, this turn is not just a physical movement: it is an image of the constant changes, both in the city itself and in its inhabitants.
From this turn, from the public to the private, the program moves on to the performances which will offer an emotional journey, а meditation, which invites the viewers to turn to themselves while at the same time opening a space for shared exploration.
Yoanna Laskova and Bozhidar Savov will create a sound and visual piece deeply inspired by minimalist music. Through the interplay of image and sound, they will explore destructive patterns, taking as their starting point the word “dissolve”—understood as the tendency of people to dissolve into others, into places, habits, ideas, emotions or states of mind.
The evening will end with “Auto Da fé” – a multimedia performance by Yves-Christian Angelov, which examines the existence of personality, its dynamism and the inconsistencies in the way we experience ourselves. Seated at a table, he will be accompanied by the steady pulse of a metronome, while a video projection unfolds behind him, amplifying the emotional atmosphere. The culmination will occur in an act of transformation and liberation – leaving the past behind and starting anew.
